The documentary crew that followed the gang at Dunder Mifflin for a decade is back at it! This time around, the subject of their series is a newspaper publisher, and aside from one accountant, features an all new cast.

The Paper is a Peacock exclusive series – a streaming service not available in Canada.

Even though we don't have the Peacock streaming service here in Canada, don't worry. There are still a few options available for you if you want to watch the show.

How to Stream The Paper on Stack TV

The easiest method would be to add STACKTV to your Prime Video account.

Stack is a service that can be added as a channel within Amazon Prime Video and gives you access to live channels as well as on-demand content, including The Paper.

It costs $12.99 per month, but if you've never had it before, you can sign up for a 7-day free trial and then just cancel before you get charged.

And let's be honest, you're for sure gonna rip through those episodes of the Paper within 7 days, so this is probably the easiest option.

Use a VPN service

This is slightly more complicated. And is explicity against Peacock's terms and contitions, so the first method is the one Canadians should follow.

But if for whatever reason, you don't want to go through the easier Amazon Prime Video route, this could technically work, too. Ultimately it gives you a lot more options and benefits than just being able to watch The Paper.

Using a VPN service, you can easily subscribe to Peacock, even if you're in Canada.

Sign up for a VPN service like NordVPN. A VPN is basically a secret tunnel into the internet which can obscure your location and data from the websites you're visiting.

This means even though you're in Canada, your VPN can make it seem like you're in the States, allowing you to sign up for services (like Peacock) not available here.

However, with Peacock, you'll need to use a US payment method/Peacock Gift Card and a US address for your account. So while you can still technically do this, it's best for Canadians just to go the StackTV route. If Peacock detects you're using a VPN they can permanently terminate your account. For this reason alone, we wouldn't recommend using a VPN to get Peacock.

You can use a VPN service on your Apple TV (box) to then install streaming platforms that aren't usually available in Canada.

While it is more complicated than it's worth for just getting a Peacock account (and again, this is a violation of the Peacock terms and conditions so don't do it to watch The Paper) a VPN service isn't a bad idea to have in general.

Once you become familiar with how to connect to a VPN this can be handy for many reasons. Aside from keeping your data more secure in all settings (especially public Wi-Fi) it could also be helpful if you're travelling and trying to access the Canadian versions of streaming services.

There are free VPN services, but I wouldn't mess with them. You're either dealing with slow servers or they're selling your data (undermining the point of using a VPN).

The Bottom Line

It's a bummer that none of the existing streaming services in Canada have The Paper included for free at launch.

Google TV Streamer also allows you to install VPNs to help you expand the available content if you're based in Canada.

But if you happen to already subscribe to STACKTV (directly or through your cable provider) the good news is you'll be able to watch the show as soon as the episodes launch.

If you're a little more tech savvy, or already have a VPN service (if you bought a Google phone in recent years, you might have this for free and not even know it) and are willing to jump through some hoops related to payment methods and addresses then using a VPN to subscribe to Peacock is technically possible, but since it violates the terms and conditions, we suggest going through STACKTV.
