Dad's are notoriously tough to buy gifts for.
They've already got a lot of stuff. When they need more they don't wait, they just go out and buy it. Plus all they really want is quality time with the people they care about.
That's a great sentiment, but for those who are trying to find the right gift for a father, it can make life tricky.
This guide has been thoughtfully curated and featuring all items we have personally tested and think are great!
If you're looking for some inspiration for the perfect dad-approved gifts, you're in the right spot. Generally tech and gaming stuff can be expensive, but wherever possible we've tried hard to find a variety of items and price points for you to consider!

Charge and Display!: SwanScout 708M
While many multi-chargers are available for iPhones, one of our favourites is from SwanScout. This charges and displays a person's iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch. It has a visual display indicating And because of its compact size and collapsibility, you can easily throw it in your luggage and have a convenient charging option on the go. And if Dad is an Android user, there's lots of options from SwanScout for him as well. Best of all, if you shop using our special link, you'll get a 20 percent discount.

Transforming Charger: BaseLynx 2.0
If Dad has a LOT of Gadgets, this is absolutely the best premium, multi-device charger. Scosche's BaseLynx 2.0 is a compact charger to display your gadgets while topping up their batteries. The coolest part - it's modular! This means you can customize it with additional kits to support additional devices to match the gear your dad has! This device features Qi2 charging technology (which is the modern faster wireless charging standard). The base module is a great starting point for charging a phone, earbuds, and tablets, alongside additional USB-C gadgets.

Ready Player 2: DualSense Controller
If your dad has a PlayStation 5 (or games on a phone, tablet, or computer) consider picking up an extra PlayStation 5 controller. There's always room to add one more controller for those times when the batteries of the main run low, for a couch co-op session, or just because the controller looks so darn cool! PlayStation just entered the Days of Play, which means that several items, including the PS5 controllers are on a special discount right now – including the beautiful looking Chroma finish controllers!

Elite Gaming: DualSense Edge
As mentioned in the introduction, some tech stuff is expensive. The DualSense Edge wireless controller is the most premium controller PlayStation makes. It's physically and digitally customizable. Meaning that you can literally take out pieces and put different pieces in so the controller feels just right for dad when he's gaming - and then he can customize specific buttons in each game he plays. The problem is this controller is very expensive – so dad may not be able to justify the price for himself. As a gift, this would be epic. Plus it's on sale right now!

Fly Onward!: HoverAir X1 Pro Max
If you would like to your dad instantly become a kid again filled with pure joy, put the HOVERAir X1 PROMAX in his hands. This 8K drone is simple enough for a newbie to master, but powerful enough for the pros! Perhaps the coolest feature on this is the Tracking function, which allows the drone to follow a subject (dad cycling, skiing, jogging, etc). and thanks to it's upgraded aerodynamics and advanced array of unboard sensors, your videos will look smooth as the drone flies through any conditions. There's a lot of drones out there, but this one is the Goldliocks that balances features, function, and price just right.

Comfy Seat: Razer Iskur V2 X
Designed for gamers, but great for anyone sitting in front of a computer, the Razer Iskur V2 X is a slightly lower-cost version of Razer's most comfortable chairs. It samples the design from The Iskur V2 by offering excellent lumbar support, many points of adjustment (to dial in the perfect comfort), and has a 152 degree recline (just in case dad wants to take a quick snooze between Zooms or while a new game update downloads. It comes in two colour options, plus there's special sleeves you can buy to change up the colour even further offering dad more variety (or setting yourself up for the next gift giving occasion for dad).

Charge it all!: Belkin Boost Charge 3-in-1
A little boring, but very practical – this charger from Belkin. Who couldn't use an extra charger around the house? Well this one is great because you can charge everything from a smartphone to a laptop with it! When it comes to chargers, the thing you need to pay attention to is how many "watts" the charger is. If you get too low of a wattage your device will charge very slowly (or possibly not at all). This Belkin 3-in-1 allows you to charge a laptop, a tablet, and a phone all at once. Plus the prongs fold it, which makes this easy to slide into a messenger bag for an everyday carry item.

Mouse Alternative: Slimblade Pro Trackball
At some point, we collectively decided that a mouse was the default and preferred method for moving a cursor around a screen, but have you ever tried a trackball? Kensington makes the best looking and feeling trackball on the market and it makes navigating an Excel document feel like the arcade game Arkanoid! In addition to being a very capable mouse replacement (and arguably much more fun), this specific model brings 4 buttons (your standard left and right mouse clicks, plus two additional ones you can assign to custom functions) and the contrast between the deep maroon and sparkly black chassis means this gadget will look super cool on any desk.

Fit and Fun: Renpho Smart Skipping Rope
If dad is into fitness (or you want to nudge him into that direction) jumping rope is an excellent warmup or an entire workout depending on the intensity he's going for. There are a few different brands of smart skipping rope out there, but we like the offering from Renpho for several reasons. The app experience is great – you can see your workout time, number of jumps, and calories burned on your smartphone. That same data is displayed on an LCD screen on the rope handle (this is rare). Plus the app offers a variety of modes to keep workouts interesting. Aside from the smarts all the essential of a high-end fitness rope (good weight, good grip, good length) are all present. This is an excellent gift to use at home, throw in a gym bag, or take when travelling.

Stylish Smarts: OnePlus Watch 3
A watch is a timeless gift for a father (slight pun intended). The OnePlus Watch 3 is one of the most interesting and, in our opinion, best looking smartwatches on the market right now. It can be used with any Android smartphone. It has incredible battery life - up to 100 hours in smart mode. And it has really easy-to-use health and fitness features including tests no other smartwatch has like a vascular health check (measures the hardness of your arteries). For more info on this watch, read our article here. With it's classic look and amazing smarts, the OnePlus Watch 3 would make an exceptional gift for a dad.

Geeking Out Shop: Samsung 990 EVO Plus
There's not a PlayStation owner alive who hasn't had to delete a game from their console to make room for a new one. It's likely your dad is no different. An external harddrive may be a cheaper option, but they're slower, and can look kinda ugly dangling off the back of a console. We love the Samsung 990 EVO Plus because it comes in a variety of storage sizes (for a variety of budgets), it has high read speeds, and even though it doesn't have a heatsink, overheating isn't an issue. And it is extremely simple to install (like a two minute job that would be very difficult to do incorrectly).

Geeking Out Shop: Switch 2 - Expanded Memory
The Switch 2 release lined up just a few days ahead of Father's Day 2025. If dad scored one of those at launch he's likely going to be treating himself to a few games, but if that game library grows too large, he'll need extra storage. The previous SD cards from the original Switch won't work with the Switch 2. You need to use Micro SD Express cards with the new console (look for an EX on the card). PNY has proven their storage solutions are high quality and they've released two different card sizes for Switch 2 fans!

Geeking Out Shop: Razer Kishi Ultra
If dad loves video games but lacks time, the Razer Kishi Ultra is a great gift idea! This mobile gaming controller allows you to use your smartphone to stream your favourite games from cloud services like Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Remote Play, steam and more. Even better, with a new update to the Razer Nexus app, you can remotely play any titles from your gaming PC. When it comes to mobile gaming, the Razer Kishi Ultra is as our favourite controller for iPad Mini, for iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, and if dad's an Android phone user, there's even more features he can tap into with this mobile controller.

Type Away!: Clicks Keyboard
For dads who remember the glory days of physical keyboards on BlackBerries, this smartphone accessory is an amazing throwback. While we specifically reviewed Clicks for iPhone 15 I have gone thumbs on with models for the iPhone 14 and 16 and even the at-this-point-unreleased-but-currently-up-for-pre-order Razr Model I can say this is a fantastic accessory that makes your phone even more productive. It also can be helpful to have physical buttons for mobile games, especially vertical oriented ones. And each key can be assignable to specific shortcuts through iOS meaning you can control your smart devices with the push of a button right from this mobile keyboard.

Multipurpose Monitor: Dell Monitor
For dads who are spending a lot of time at their desk, it could be time to upgrade to a better monitor. There's lots of options to choose from, but I picked this one from Dell because I believe it hits a sweet spot between size, features, and price. Whether it's surfing online, watching YouTube or streaming shows, or anything in between this is a nice display that won't break the bank for a gift idea. This monitor can be tilted to adjust for a better viewing angle, but its height can't be changed up and down, so keep that in mind, or consider pairing it with our next gift suggestion!

Smart Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Meta AI
These sunny G's may look just like any other RayBans, but guess what? They're actually super smart! These sunglasses have built-in cameras that let you take videos or photos with just your voice or a simple tap of your finger. Perfect for those sightseeing trips on vacation! They also have Bluetooth audio, so you can listen to your music or take calls from your phone without anyone noticing. And if you're ever lost in an unfamiliar place, you can just say "Hey Meta, what am I looking at?" and it'll give you all the info you need.

Epic Smart Projector: Epson EpiqVision Mini EF22
Movie night with dad, anyone? Watching a movie on a projector adds an extra element of a magic and nostalgia to any film screening. We like this projector from Epson for a lot of reasons which you can read about in our review, but long story short it's extremely portable, even working great outdoors, and if you have a relatively flat surface, you can get very good display quality even without a screen.

Latest and Greatest: Muse S Athena
If dad seems stressed, this smart headband can help. The latest version of the Muse wearable has a new sensor that can help you train your brain to improve your focus and mental stamina. This one-of-a-kind device has lots of benefits which you can read all about in our full review here, but in short, this could be the most important selfcare tool dad could ever want.

So Cool! So Hot!: Nest Learning Thermostat
Find a dad who isn't obsessed with the thermostat. For dad's who want the ultimate control on their heating, cooling, and energy budget the Nest Learning Thermostat is amazing full review here. Not only can you get very granular on setting up controls and comfort for your home, you can also let the device's built-in smarts learn your routines and habits and optimize your home's heating and cooling automatically. Plus this thermostat has a wide range of compatibility, even in older homes, something that you don't find with every smart thermostat model.

Corsair Gaming Headset: Void Wireless V2
When dad's in the mist of an intense gaming session he needs to be able to tune out the surroundings and focus on the gameplay. The Void RGB Elite Wireless headset from Corsair allows him to do this while also looking stylish! It delivers 7.1 surround sound through a wireless 2.4 GHz connection – so things will sound good and the connection will remain stable. It's available in two different finishes.

Super Mario & Yoshi!: LEGO Super Mario World
If you haven't checked out LEGO in a couple years, you really should. The company still makes wonderful sets for children, but the offering that's now clearly targeted to adults is absolutely amazing. Whatever dad's interest (and your budget) you should be able to find a cool set inspired by his favourite video game, movie, or TV show. As a Super Nintendo Fan, I'm partial to this Mario & Yoshi set which recreates the iconic 16-bit look of the duo from Super Mario World. Plus once the build is done, your dad will have a beautiful show piece for his desk, gaming nook, or to place upon the mantle for guests to admire.

Gaming Connections: Razer Gaming Dock
If your dad has a mobile gaming device like a Steam Deck, ROG Ally X, an MSI Claw, or something similar, do you know if he has a dock? At minimum this is a cool way to keep the device charged up and at the ready whenever dad needs it. At it's best, it's the ultimate way to tap into the device's full functionality. By plugging in the gaming device to this dock, you can then connect a hardwired internet connection, external monitor or TV, a gaming mouse and keyboard, or whatever peripherals your dad uses to enjoy his games. Plus, the Razer model has the sweet RGB lighting which can be customized to match the look of your dad's gaming area.
While dads can be difficult to buy for, hopefully this guide has either helped you find the perfect gift, or at least inspired some ideas for you.
There's also a lot of pressure to try and find a great gift that shows your dad how much you appreciate him. So allow me to remind you that finding something to encompass your gratitude for your dad is likely impossible.
And ultimately, while this gift guide is focused on material things, it's extremely likely that more than anything else, your dad like it best if you could carve out some time for just the two of you to hang out.
But if you can do that while gaming together – even better!
Let me know what you think of the list. Or if you have gotten an exceptional video game or tech gift for your dad (or received one as a father) that you think is excellent and should be added, please let me know! You can give me a follow on Instagram and send me a DM.
