Apple just dropped some monster upgrades to some of their highest-end gadgets with very little fanfare. The MacBook Pro, the iPad Pro, and the Apple Vision Pro are all getting a boost from the new M5 processor.
This incredibly powerful M5 chip gives users a leap forward in performance—think faster load times for apps and widgets and more responsive web browsing—plus, improved display rendering, faster AI-powered workflows, and extended battery life.
Let's take a closer look at what the M5 means across these new devices.
iPad Pro with M5
Featuring a next-generation GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, this new chip delivers a big boost and packs an unbelievable amount of power into an ultraportable design.
Running iPadOS 26, this device is faster and gives users an advanced experience, with AI performance that amps up your productivity.
Compared to the iPad Pro with M4, it's got up to 3.5 times the AI performance, and it's over 5.5 times faster than the iPad Pro with M1.
The iPad Pro with M5 has a C1C modem and N1 which apple says will deliver wildly fast wireless connectivity.
Available in two colours (space black and silver), iPad Pro features the Ultra Retina XDR display and comes in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes.
14-inch MacBook Pro with M5
With a faster and more efficient CPU, the M5 chip powers the new 14-inch MacBook Pro, giving it better performance and longer battery life (up to 24 hours), serious speed, and advanced on-device AI capabilities.
The new M5 chip amps up AI performance by up to 3.5 times compared to the previous generation. It also brings faster SSD performance than the previous generation, making multitasking across apps and memory-intensive projects, like importing, editing, or exporting high-resolution photos and videos, incredibly easy.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro comes in two colour options: space black and silver.
Apple Vision Pro with M5
The M5 chip brings extended battery life and improved performance and display rendering to the Apple Vision Pro.
The Apple Vision Pro with M5 features visionOS 26, which unlocks innovative spatial experiences (including widgets, new Personas, an interactive Jupiter Environment), and new Apple Intelligence features (with support for additional languages).
This new device also has a cushioned Dual Knit Band that allows users to get a more comfortable fit.
