If you've watched any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies featuring Iron Man, you've likely noticed Tony Stark is pretty buff for a corporate suit. How did he get that way? Probably with the help of his custom AI assistant, Jarvis. Fortunately, now even those of us who are not billionaire, playboy philanthropists can also carry around a fitness coach in our pocket!
Previously launched in the US, Fitbit is bringing their AI-driven fitness coach north to Canada! It's a fitness trainer, sleep coach, and health-and-wellness advisor all wrapped up into one; I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to name mine Hal or Joanne (ala Body Break!).
What is it?
Fitbit AI helps you reach your fitness goals by helping you create a plan to meet your goals, provide feedback on your results, and suggest changes along the way. Unlike a fitness app which might give you static workouts or suggestions, Fitbit's AI will help you customize a plan that works for you, your goals, the resources at your disposal and your schedule.
What does it do?
Tell the coach what your goals are, and it will help you make a plan to achieve those goals! It will give you feedback along the way and help you make adjustments based on results or on changes in your schedule and circumstances ("Hi coach, next week I'll be spending a few days in a hotel with no fitness area, what are some exercises I can do in my room?").
The coach can also help you with tracking and analyzing your sleep patterns, and help you come up with questions to ask your health care providers with your personal results and information in mind.
What is the cost and who can use it?
The health coach assistant is available in English to Fitbit Premium users, which will cost you $12.99 per month or $104.99 annually on Android, $13.49 monthly or $106.99 annually on iOS
I purchased my Pixel Watch 2 over a year ago and I still have the free trial available so if you've bought a fitness tracking device it's worth checking if you have it!
Want to try before you buy? A 90 day free trial is available through the Fitbit app, or if you've purchased a Fitbit fitness tracker or Google Pixel Watch, a 6 month free trial to Premium may be included
What're you waiting for?
The Fitbit AI fitness coach brings a wealth of health and wellness knowledge it uses to work with you to learn more about yourself and achieve your fitness goals. Even if you only have a pile of scraps and a cave to exercise in, it will help you find a way!

Pixel Watch 4
Next-Level Health & Fitness Performance
If you want the Made-By-Google solution to access FitBit AI (and the latest hardware) then the Pixel Watch 4 is your go-to choice. It has incredible battery life and an improved GPS system. Its Actua 360 domed display is 10% larger and 50% brighter than the Pixel Watch 3, and its scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass means it's durable, too.
In our review of the Pixel Watch 4 we loved the battery life and the improved accuracy of the GPS system, particularly in dense urban areas (the watch can "find" its place easier among tall buildings). The main downside was that the best features related to health and fitness required a FitBit Premium subscription. However, that main drawback is removed thanks to the 90 day trial being offered right now.
If you love your Google Pixel, but haven't yet got yourself a smartwatch or fitness tracker, here's our top suggestions for 2026. Pairing your Pixel Watch with Fitbit Premium to unlock this new AI coaching could be the exact thing you've been waiting for if you have the desire to get in shape ahead of summer, but need a little extra support and guidance along the way.
