If you've already rolled credits on Ghost of Yōtei and are feeling that post-game emptiness, PlayStation has some good news.
The developer, Sucker Punch, just dropped a major update (November 24th) that adds "New Game Plus" along with a bunch of features that make the game easier to play for everyone.
Ghosts of Yotei Update What is New Game Plus?
In video game terms, New Game Plus is basically a "victory lap." It allows you to start the story over from the very beginning, but you get to keep all the cool stuff you unlocked the first time around.
Instead of starting with basic gear, you'll begin your new journey with all your armor, weapons, and abilities intact. It's a great power fantasy if you want to breeze through early enemies, but this update also adds harder difficulty options if you actually want a tougher challenge.
What's new in the November Ghosts of Yotei update?
The update is free for everyone who owns the game. Here is the breakdown of what you get:
Ghost Flowers: This is a new type of currency you can earn in New Game Plus. You can trade these flowers with a new merchant to unlock over 30 new cosmetic items, including new armor dyes and charms.
Replayable Content: You can now reset and replay Duals and Camps as many times as you want.
Quality of Life Upgrades: This is my favourite part. They added options to turn off fall damage (no more dying because you slipped off a cliff) and auto-loot enemies (so you don't have to manually pick up every item).
Better Visuals: For the tech-heads out there, this update also adds a "Balanced" graphics mode. If you have a TV that supports 120Hz, you can now run the game at a smoother 40 frames-per-second while keeping the resolution high.
This update is available to download right now.

Ghost of Yotei review: Game of the Year material
Ghosts of Yotei is an immaculate follow-up to Ghosts of Tsushima. It's a rare instance where the sequel is as good (if not better) than the original.
The Virtual Boy Is Here! Unnecessary, yes. Awesome? Also yes!
The "new" Nintendo console in 2026 is actually a remake of a botched release from the mid 1990s. The Virtual Boy was released in 1995 and brought a VR experience to a Nintendo system. When the Virtual Boy first hit stores it struggled to find its footing. It cost $199 in Canada and didn't have nearly as big of a game library as the Super Nintendo (which was only $179 at the time)...
