The HyperX Cloud Stinger 3 is a wireless gaming headset with Bluetooth, noise cancellation, and up to 80 hours of battery life. After spending some time with them, I've honestly been really impressed with what you get for the price, with only one big (and noisy) complaint.. They're comfortable, have great range, and are easy to use. Aand most importantly, they just work, which is pretty much all I ask for from a gaming headset.
Loot Drop
There's something satisfying about opening a new piece of tech and immediately getting the feeling that the manufacturer actually cared about the experience. Right out of the box, these headphones feel thoughtfully put together, with a level of fit, finish, and attention to detail that's impressive for the price. And thankfully, that first impression doesn't disappear once you actually put them on.
Sorry, What Did You Say?
The first thing you'll notice is just how quiet your world becomes. The active noise cancellation is genuinely impressive. In fact, my wife's biggest complaint so far is that I apparently can't hear her when she's trying to talk to me while gaming. If you're looking for a headset that helps you really focus on your game, consider that a pretty strong endorsement.
+10 to Comfort
Comfort is another major win. The memory foam earcups are soft, almost a feeling of overly squishy, but in a good way. I've had no problem wearing them for long gaming sessions, which is really what you want from a headset.
Side Quest: Touch Grass
The wireless range also surprised me. I don't live in a mansion, but I was able to walk anywhere in my house, including the basement, without static or noticeable dropouts. I even wore them out into the backyard while cutting the grass. The active noise cancellation knocked down a surprising amount of the mower noise, while still letting me enjoy bingeing Papa Meat videos. When I made it around to the front of the house, I finally started getting a little breakup. No big deal, though. With a quick flick of the switch, I was able to connect to Bluetooth, pair with my phone, and get right back to business.
Fewer Buttons, Fewer Problems
The controls deserve some praise too. They're simple and most importantly not trying to make me memorize the location of twelve tiny buttons. I especially prefer the volume wheel over the buttons on my previous headset. I could never quite tell which button I was pressing without taking the headset off and performing minor surgery. Having a dedicated button to pause and skip through music or videos is also something I didn't expect to love as much as I do. Turns out, tiny conveniences are dangerous once you get used to them.
Can You Hear Me Now?
The microphone is perfectly adequate for gaming. Nobody in-game has complained that they can't hear me, so as far as I'm concerned, it has passed the test. Would I record a podcast with it? No, But for gaming, it does exactly what it needs to do, and honestly, that's all I'm asking for.
Easy Mode
These also pass my "it just works" test. Plug them in and you're off. If you want to dig deeper, HyperX's NGENUITY software gives you additional customization options, including EQ adjustments, firmware updates, and AI-powered noise reduction. It's nice to have those options available without making the basic setup feel complicated.
HEY!!! LISTEN!!!!
There is one thing I absolutely need to complain about: THE HEADSET TALKS TO ME. Every time I turn it on, it feels the need to announce itself. Move the microphone up? "MIC OFF." Move it down? "MIC ON." Yes, headset. I was there. I physically moved the microphone. I don't need a narrator documenting my every action. Please, HyperX, give me a toggle in NGENUITY to turn the voice prompts off. The light is perfectly capable of telling me what's happening.
