2025 has been a stellar year for OnePlus Products and the good times will continue!

After dropping the flagship OnePlus 13, the budget friendl(ier) OnePlus 13R, possibly the smartest smartwatch available now (the Watch3) their next move is to supercharge their tablet offering with the OnePlus Pad 3!

The new devices comes to Canada on June 5, 2025. If you're in the market for a new Android tablet that's prioritizes speed and productivity this is one is truly cutting edge!

How powerful is the OnePlus Pad 3

OnePlus is packing some serious power into this new tablet. Here's what's under the hood:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform: This is a big deal! The OnePlus Pad 3 will be one of the very first tablets to feature this super-powerful processor. What does that mean for you? Exceptional performance for gaming, multitasking between work apps and tabs, all while maintaining great battery life. At least on paper. From using the OnePlus 13 off and on for the past several months (which also has a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor) I'm thinking this is going to be an extremely capable tablet.

  • Open Canvas Software: If you've used a OnePlus tablet before, you might already be familiar with Open Canvas. It's OnePlus's special software designed to make multitasking on a tablet a breeze. They've upgraded it since the OnePlus Pad 2, so we should expect an even better experience for managing multiple apps and workflows.

  • Seamless Syncing and Even Some Apple Love: OnePlus users will be happy to know that the Pad 3 is designed to work smoothly with the latest OnePlus phones. You'll be able to quickly share files and even mirror your phone's screen onto the tablet. They're seemingly closing gaps in their ecosystem to create more of an Apple-eseque user experience (which is the bar to beat).

  • Remote Mac Control: OnePlus is also making it easier for Apple users to get in on the action. They're introducing new apps and features that will allow for things like:

    • Remote Mac control: Imagine controlling your Mac computer right from your OnePlus Pad 3.
    • Easy file sharing via drag-and-drop: Moving files between your Apple devices and the Pad 3 is supposed to be simpler. We'll see about that...While OnePlus 13 did introduce an app that does make it easier-ier to move files between OP and Apple devices, there's still a few hoops

OnePlus says their new tablet will work well alongside Apple products.

It's great to see a company thinking about how their devices can work better with products from other ecosystems. This could make the OnePlus Pad 3 a really flexible option, no matter what phone or computer you primarily use. But without having tried this myself, right now we're just relying on OnePlus' promise that the experience will be improved. I'd love for this to be true, but will remain cautiously skeptical for now.

What colours does the OnePlus Pad 3 come in?

OnePlus has revealed that the Pad 3 will be available in North America in a color called Storm Blue. They describe it as a "dusty royal blue."

And that's it.

OnePlus has created a new smart keyboard and folio case for the device.

For the most part, colour doesn't really matter because you'll likely be sliding this into a protective case or keyboard cover (more on that below). But after offering such a wide array of finishes for their premium smartphone (the OnePlus 13) I was a little surprised we don't get to see more pizzazz from their premium tablet.

Sweet Pre-Order Deals!

In the Android device world, I feel like both OnePlus and Samsung do a phenomenal job of making compelling upgrade justifications in their pre-order phase. They bring huge value to their devices by offering exceptional deals on accessoreis and this is definitely the case for the OnePlus Pad 3.

If you pre-order now you can choose from any two early bird gifts:

Pick Two Free Gifts: While supplies last, early purchasers can choose two free accessories from the following list:

  • OnePlus Pad 3 Smart Keyboard
  • OnePlus Stylo 2 (their new stylus, great for note-taking or drawing!)
  • OnePlus Pad 3 Folio Case

Historically, OnePlus pre-sale gifts have sold out quickly, so if you are leaning toward upgrading, don't wait, so you have the best chance to get the accessories you most want.

Is the OnePlus Pad 3 worth it?

OnePlus is calling this the "best tablet experience of 2025." But obviousy they would. Every company thinks their product is the best.

In my testing so far in 2025, I have consistently been blown away by OnePlus devices, so I am coming out of this product reveal with very high expections, and look forward to reporting back after getting some hands-on time with the device.

OnePlus Pad 3

The early indicators are that OnePlus will deliver a premium tablet experience for Android users when this device launches. There's a lot of interesting promises (like how the devices will work with Apple products) but based on the experience of other OnePlus devices that have launched this year, the company has really delivered great produts. The OnePlus Pad 3 could continue this streak.

The OnePlus Pad 3 sounds like it's shaping up to be a real powerhouse. The focus on top-tier performance with that new Snapdragon chip, combined with improved multitasking software and better cross-device compatibility (even with Apple products!), makes it a very interesting option in the premium Android tablet space.

The official pricing hasn't been announced yet, so it's to figure out if an upgrade is justified isn't possible.

The pre-order bonuses are also a nice touch, adding extra value if you're quick on the draw.

What do you think? Is the OnePlus Pad 3 on your radar? Are you an Android tablet user, or could this be the one to tempt you? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Reach out and share your comments with me on my Instagram page.
