Renpho Eyeris Eye Massagers

Renpho is a company that makes a variety of high-quality health and wellness products. Their Smart Eye massagers should definitely be on your radar because they are such a simple and effective tool for helping you relax.

Massaging your eyes and temples with customizable levels of pressure or heat, this face mask fits easily on your head and helps you block out the outside world to focus on quality "me" time. You can control it with voice commands, connect it to your phone to enjoy chill music or an audiobook, and there's even a separate cooling mask insert included in the box allowing you to change the feel of each massage session.

It charges via USB C, has a long battery life, and includes a pouch for storing the massager when you're not using it.

Luxury Massage

This is one of those gadgets that you don't know you need until you try it. Whether it's to help you zone out before bedtime, gently ease you into the day in the morning, or provide a midday massage, the Eyeris smart massager is such a welcome presence. The Eyeris 3 is the highest end model with a long battery life, a variety of custom or preset modes, and includes a storage pouch for the device.

The one featured on the TV segment is the Eyeris 3. For a slightly simpler and lowercost version, the company also makes the Eyeris 1. It has two levels of compression and uses heat and/or vibration to enhance your massage experience.

Simple and Smart Eye Massager

The Renpho Eyeris 1 gives you a core eye massage experience, but costs a little less than the more higher-end version. The massage experience with the Eyeris 1 is still premium (like having a personal masseuse available to massage your temples any time you need it). You don't get the storage bag, cooling pouch, or quite as many massage modes as the Eyeris 3; however, you will still get a relaxing massage on demand.

Kloudnote S Digital Notebook

For those who find journaling or sketching helps calm their busy mind, a digital notepad could be a fantastic daily source for stress relief.

The world of E-Ink tablets (devices with a screen that looks more like paper than a smart screen) is vast with devices like the reMarkable sitting at the top (in terms of quality and price) and with new brands emerging each year.

The Kloudnote S E-Ink notebook is middle-lower in the pack in terms of price, but delivers more features than its rivals:

  • 10.1-inch screen
  • 35 hours of continuous use on a single charge
  • Included stylus
  • Open Android System (you'll get apps you won't get on other tablets)
  • Templates for notes (to-do lists, lined journaling, dotted grids, etc).
  • Free to sync to the cloud (other tablets you have to pay a monthly/yearly fee)

In my testing, I had some pain points (to me switching between apps was slow and the input delay from typing a letter to when it appeared on the screen felt very delayed). However; I shared this tablet with an artist friend who had never used E-Ink screens before and she was absolutely blown away – so I suspect my experience is influenced by some of the more high-cost E-Ink tablets that are better at core functions, but a little less versatile in features.

The Kloudnote S E-Ink tablet is priced on the low end of the E-Ink spectrum while offering much more features than the average tablet in this price range. Aside from note-taking and sketching, it can also be used as an eBook and even connects to a popular online library of classic books you can download for free.

If you've got money to burn, I'd suggest the reMarkable Paper Pro as the very best E-Ink, paper-like, tablet experience, but be prepared to overpay for that experience (and tack on a subscription to easily get your files through the cloud).

For people who want basic sketching and note-taking, but mostly an e-Reader, Kobo makes a really great option with the Elipsa 2e.

Kloudnote sits in a space that's kind of on its own at: for this price, you get far more features than the tablets I just mentioned. However there are a few compromises (software interface isn't super polished, response time on the screen is slightly delayed) that may or may not matter to the average person.

Belkin BoostCharge 3-in-1

It's also possible that the thing that stresses you out is your gadgets. The simplest way to keep your eyes off your screen is to introduce a "phone zone" in your home. This is a place where you leave all your gadgets so they're not a tempting distraction in your pocket.

Belkin makes so many great multi-device chargers and this 3-in-1 station is great for a few reasons:

  • Qi2 charging (the latest wireless charging standard for speed and efficiency)
  • Spots for your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch
  • Compatible with any MagSafe accessories (you can use certain Android phones and earbuds)
  • Collapsible for storage/travel
  • Included power cable (this seems small, but is often where companies cut corners)

For keeping your devices out of hand's reach and keeping your mind present in the moment while you're around your house, the Belkin BoostCharge 3-in-1 is a great option.

It keeps your phone, watch, and earbuds charged up, but off your mind. This charging station comes in two colours.

ProLife Massage Ball

If you're muscles are stressed and tense after a big workout (or just from sitting in an office chair all day) you need the right tool to really "get in there" and roll 'em out.

This massage ball from LifePro can do the trick! Is it better than a softball or lacrosse ball at doing the job? No.

Is it more expensive than those two options - yes!

But there are some benefits to the design including the knurled texture which does do an effective job of getting into muscles to help tenderize and stretch.

The ball has a built-in battery that charges via USB C and allows the device to vibrate to provide a deeper massage experience.

This massage ball is great for home but is also small enough to toss in your gym bag. It has four different vibration intensities and allows you to target specific areas to roll out where you are feeling tension. Unfortunately the design of the power button sometimes results in unintentionally turning the device off or changing the vibration settings, so while this exists as an option, there are some reasons to consider alternative similar products.

Chill out, WIllie!

Hopefully you found the collection this week helpful and there may be one or two gadgets in this roundup that can bring you serenity and stress relief.
