If your Spotify playlist is an essential part of your gym routine, great news! If you pay for Spotify Premium, you may not have to pay for a gym membership anymore, because you're getting free fitness classes from Peloton.
Peloton and Spotify have officially teamed up to bring their top-notch fitness content directly into the Spotify app for Premium subscribers. This comes in the form of a dedicated library which just launched. The Fitness category features a massive collection of over 1,400 Peloton classes.
What Can You Stream?
If you've never tried Peloton before, you might be under the (mistaken) impression that you need a Peloton Bike, Treadmill, or Rower to actually do the classes. Not true.
This partnership focuses on Peloton's floor-based and outdoor modalities, making it super accessible for anyone with a smartphone.
The initial lineup includes:
- Strength training
- Pilates and Barre
- Yoga and Stretching
- Meditation
- Floor Cardio
- Outdoor Running and Walking
The classes are available in English, Spanish, and German, led by Peloton's roster of instructors, many of which have become global icons at this point.
Why This Partnership Matters
For Peloton, this is a clever move to get their gold-standard instruction in front of hundreds of millions of people who might not have tried the platform yet.
For us users, it's all about convenience. As Peloton's Chief Commercial Officer Dion Camp Sanders put it, the best workout is the one you actually do, and making it as easy as tuning into a playlist removes a huge barrier.
Spotify is pitching this as a step toward becoming a "daily wellness companion" rather than just a music app. Whether you're at home or traveling abroad, if you have Spotify Premium, you now have a pro-level fitness studio in your pocket.
New content is expected to be added regularly, so keep an eye on that new Fitness tab next time you open the app.
