Investing in a high-end treadmill is one thing, but getting the absolute most out of your setup takes a little extra planning. If you've recently upgraded to or are rocking a Peloton Tread+ Vision, you already know how incredible the hardware is. But to truly unlock its full potential (especially with those advanced smart features) you need the right gear backing it up.
This guide is packed with essential accessories that will optimise your workouts, improve your recovery, and make every kilometre on the belt feel even better.
Whether you're looking to upgrade your room lighting for the built-in camera, dial in your heart rate zones, or add some luxury touches to your routine, we have rounded up the must-have accessories for your Peloton Tread+ Vision!
Studio Lighting: Enbrighten Ultrabrite Dimmable Hex Lights
It may seem a bit odd to make lighting your very first accessory purchase, but there's a good reason for it. The PelotonIQ-powered camera on the Tread Vision (and Tread+ Vision) models requires really good lighting to function properly and track your form seamlessly. These hex lights are super easy to install and so bright you could practically do surgery under them they're so bright. They're not "smart" as in app-powered but they come with a remote control. A quick pro-tip: while you can buy them online, when I grabbed mine at the local warehouse they were $10 cheaper than the online price!
Seamless Tracking: Fitbit Air
The FitBit Air made waves earlier this year for being the first FitBit without a display. I've been using it since it when I got it for review in early May and I love it. You can connect the Google Health and Peloton apps on your smartphone, and you'll be able to use your Fitbit Air for live heart rate monitoring during your workouts on your Peloton Tread+ Vision. While you can achieve this with other tech like the new Fitbit Edge or an Apple Watch, I've found the Fitbit Air is easily the best tracker to wear while sleeping. It's ultra-comfortable and completely screenless, and since quality sleep is such a massive part of any solid fitness routine, that's why it secured a spot on this list. Space-Saving Strength: Mouldbody Adjustable Dumbbells
Dumbbells are notoriously pricey, and if you're limited on space in your home gym, having an adjustable set is a total game-changer to get a wide variety of weight options out of a single pair. Your Peloton Tread also allows you to do strength workouts, and when you swivel the screen and point the Peloton IQ-powered camera at yourself it can count your reps and track your form during these strength exercises. Keep in mind that because of their mechanical design, you generally can't do exercises where you put your full body weight directly down on the dumbbells (like renegade rows), but that's a minor trade-off for pretty much every version of adjustable dumbbells on the market.
Built-In Biometrics: PowerBeats Pro 2
This is another product I've been using for a long time and love how they fit into the exercise flow with my new Peloton Tread+ Vision. These feature a built-in heart rate sensor, making them a fantastic alternative if you aren't wearing a dedicated fitness tracker or smartwatch while hitting the belt. It's an effortless way to keep tabs on your ticker and ensure you stay right in your target zone. Plus, if you're planning on running or walking with earbuds anyway, you might as well go with a pair that delivers exceptional audio quality alongside the added benefit of biometric tracking. For all the details, you can read our full review of the PowerBeats Pro 2 upgrade here.
Read While You Run: Kindle+
Kindle+ (formerly Kindle Unlimited) might sound like an unconventional suggestion to pair with your Peloton, but did you know there's a dedicated Kindle reader built right into your Peloton screen? It's brilliant if you're doing a chill recovery walk or a gentle cool-down. It serves up a foolproof way to sneak in some extra reading time while taking advantage of a massive digital library. Now I was also skeptical about this the first time I tried reading on a Peloton (it was the Bike+ at the time) but after powering through Project Hail Mary (long before it was "cool" thanks to the Ryan Gosling movie) I came to quite enjoy and look forward to this life hack to combine exercise and book time!
Smart Hydration: Larq PureVis 2
If you've invested in a Peloton Tread, it's safe to assume you take your health and training pretty seriously, which means you're almost certainly taking your hydration seriously, too. This smart water bottle is a super convenient way to ensure you're keeping up with your fluids. While nobody strictly needs a $200 water bottle, it's a gorgeous luxury item to add to your daily routine, and the built-in self-cleaning water purification function is a massive bonus when you're traveling. But a quick note on that self cleaning, you HAVE to take apart that lid regularly and clean it thoroughly because the "self cleaning" doesn't get into that part and if you neglect it, a scary and stinky science experiment begins to happen.
Equipping your home studio doesn't have to be overwhelming, and hopefully, this round-up has given you a few standout ideas to supercharge your Peloton Tread+ Vision workouts.
At the end of the day, any gear that keeps you motivated, comfortable, and tracking properly is well worth the desk or floor space.
