Since its launch in June, titles for the Nintendo Switch 2 have been trickling in at a steady pace, beefing up the library of games you can enjoy on the big screen or while gaming on the go.

Some of these games are available for both the Switch and Switch 2, while some are exclusive titles or have enhancements and optimizations if you're playing on the newer console.

While one of the most anticipated games of the year, Metroid Prime 4, is coming a little closer to the holiday season, there's plenty of titles to keep you busy until then! Maybe some are already on your radar, but just in case, here's the top 5 games we've been playing lately (and loving) on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Stellar Sequel

Hades II

Hades II is a sequel to Supergiant's super successful title Hades which was released in 2020. In the sequel, you'll play as a new character with new abilities as you try and rescue your family from danger in the underworld. This rogue-like is a great addition to your Switch 2 library because you play a short ten minute session or sit down for an hour, but either way you level up slightly with each run, setting yourself up for success in future attempts. FC 2026

EA Sports

Another great pick for replay factor is FC 26. EA is back with a new edition and some great play modes with their beloved soccer (football) title. For beginners the practice mode is great to get a feel for the pitch. For veterans who played previous editions you can jump into local or online play. Keep an eye out for Manager Live Challenges throughout the season to earn unique rewards in the game.

Just Dance

Just Dance 2026

Bust A Move

Ubisoft's incredibly fun Just Dance is back with a 2026 edition packed full of great hits and new features. Aside from the 40 new songs (including Lady Gaga's Abracadabra, Rose and Bruno Mars APT, and Post Malone & Morgan Wallen's I Had Some Help) you'll be able to dance alongside Bluey (yes THAT Bluey) thanks to a fun crossover. Depending on the edition you buy, you'll get 1, 3, or 12 months of Just Dance+ to unlock a massive catalogue of songs.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Gotta Catch 'Em All

A new adventure is waiting for Pokémon master in Lumiose City with a brand new play style never before seen in the franchise. You command your Pokémon directly on the battlefield but there are NO turns! In the Pokémon RPG series, Trainers and their Pokémon can move in real-time battles. Pokémon unleash their moves when told, allowing you to strategically swap Pokémon and consider timing and area of effect for this new battle style. This could be the most action-packed title ever released in the franchise.

Donkey Kong Banazna - DLC

DK Island & Emerald Rush

No doubt Donkey Kong Bananza is already on your radar – it's possibly the very best Switch 2 game available right now. But did you know there's even more available once you complete the main quest? Earlier this summer, during a Nintendo Direct Nintendo announced a speed-running expansion for the game. In this mode, DK is trying to mine as many emeralds as he can while exploring an island filled with franchise-familiar characters. If you've already beat Donkey Kong Bananza you're ready to move on to this super fun DLC expansion!

For those who have already upgraded to the Switch 2 there's some new and exclusive titles to enjoy, but revisiting games like Tears of the Kingdom or Super Mario Wonder with the enhancements and optimizations for Switch 2 is a real treat.

Plus, getting to unlock a growing catalogue of Game Cube games like F-Zero GX and Super Mario Strikers (which in Canada has the European name Mario Smash Football) is an awesome perk for people with the latest console and a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion membership.

The ability to play docked on your big screen at home or on the go with the console's built-in screen is great. Lately I've been experimenting with different models of smart glasses. VITURE'S Luma Pro have been excellent with the Switch 2, particularly when travelling, to create a 152-inch virtual display whereever you want to game.
